LaPorte County residents and property owners face a dire threat to their property rights with the proposed Joint Zoning Ordinance currently on the table. The City Council of Michigan City has already passed it, and if it passes the LaPorte City Council and the County Commission, it becomes law. A Facebook group is bringing to light the problems with the ordinance and how it will restrict landowners, kill jobs and devalue property. You can check the group out at Stop LaPorte County’s Zoning Ordinance and decide for yourself.
Proposed LaPorte County Zoning Ordinance Attacks Property Rights

It appears that these councilmen and commissioners are OK with losing their career politico positions. That will be the case if this ordnance passes, and we do have the votes to replace them all with people that really care about LaPorte County, and not the almighty dollar like these clowns do.
If you just follow the money, it will be clear what the true motivation is for this zoning ordnance and the accompanying articles. To try to impede interstate commerce, ramrod landowners to use their land as the Elite Few in power sees fit, and to drive away taxes and income for the county reminds me of the “old days” when the big money people ran the show.
